Chief budget controllers to serve from August 15
Wednesday 8:23, July 28th, 2010
The government can send chief controllers to look into central budget chapters and separate government funds from August 15, MTI was informed by the National Economy Ministry (NGM) on Tuesday.

The chief controllers will not conduct posterior surveys, their control will be carried out before decisions with financial impact are taken, as part of the decision making process, MTI was told.

The chief controllers can make objections to obligations exceeding HUF 10 million if the intended payment does not comply with the budget policy targets, is not necessary or timely, and/or adequately funded. In such cases, the chief controller will be entitled to propose suspension of the process, and initiate consultation with the national economy minister. (MTI-ECONEWS)
